Seamoon FUNK MACHINE. Sold it to get a Systec Envelope Follower because they were made locally and the owner had a great sales pitch about how much better it was. IT WASN'T. Never could get my hands on another FUNK MACHINE. Now they're rare and very expensive.

SansAmp BDDI...can't recall how many. Gone and replaced with a ToneHammer, SA Bass FlyRig, dUg pedal.

Diamond Comp X 2. Gone and replaced with Empress and Pigtronix Philosopher.

Fairfield Barbershop. Sold but replaced with the always-on ModeleB.

SD Paranormal X 2. Long gone. Great DI but I prefer the "character" DI's.

ART PhatBoy X 2. Strange agent! First went on the fritz and I eventually bought a replacement.

Boss ME-50B X 2. For the life of me, I can't recall the rationale behind those purchases. Now replaced with a Zoom MS60B.

BBE Optostomp Comp (...both versions) X 2. Allegedly a glitch with the "monocle" version but I never found it.


Since I'm on a roll...

Two budget-conscious pedals which are great tone-shaping tools: Seymour Duncan DoubleBack comp and the Fdeck Series 3 HPF....should be able to snag either second-hand for under $100.

Pedal I'd like to see: Fairfield Barbershop with an onboard Showman (or similar) tone stack.

MuTron Phasor II...I think I paid $25 for one and $40 for the other. Gotta love a pedal with a power switch (and an AC cord!!!!). My favorite phaser ever, with the Feedback knob all the way up it sounds like a flanger.

G.A.S. led me to modern EBS, Radial, t-rex choruses, all this models brought me beautiful but useless effects.
I'm most a tone shaping guy, so I sold them all and got a DOD again. Great pedal to my kind of playing.

Not a pedal but a power supply, and I didn't buy it back but rather...well, it's complicated...

See, I bought a Strymon Ojai but then ran out of power, so I bought a second Ojai, but then I scaled back my pedal board and I sold it. But then I couldn't help myself so I kept buying pedals and ran out of power again. But I didn't want to run out of power AGAIN, so I bought a Zuma instead. But I DID run out of power again, so I bought a SECOND ZUMA. But, realizing my first mistake, I boxed up the Ojai and didn't sell it. Then I told a friend that I wished I didn't sell the other Ojai and he said he'd been looking for a Zuma. So I said "Okay, buy an Ojai and ship it to me and I'll send you one of my Zumas." So now my pedal board has one Zuma and two Ojai. And he got an almost new Zuma for $100 off.

But now with my 6 string bass, I feel like 50% of my pedals are obsolete, so I'm thinking of scaling back again. It's a never ending cycle. My friend was laughing at me when I told him. Then he told me that he bought another Rat overdrive. It's the 7th time he's bought a Rat after selling it

I'm not a repurchaser/flipper.

I have three flap-top bins of pedals, tightly packed, and one of the bins has the earliest pedals, etc.
I've taken pedals out of use, tucked them into a bin and forgotten that I had them. And sometime down the road, purchased a new one, same thing. Every few hundred years I'll get a bug to dump all the pedals out of a bin and see what's in there, and rediscover something or find the original of what I've purchased a duplicate. A few of these pedals are now "like, totally, dude, vintage!" and I've had people wink at me and tell me that they understand that I've picked up a new pedal to preserve the vintage version. I only wish I were that smart when just the opposite is true.

Not a pedal or bass related....but I got a Sp-303 twice and sold to finally settle on a SP-404sx.

Bought and sold the Boss ODB-3 a couple times, currently sold.

I used to use a Boss DD-6 for the WARP mode in metal band I was in, sold it and bought it again later on. I missed those sweet, spacey warps.

Bought and sold the EHX Freeze, then bought again. A cool effect but I could never find anywhere to put it musically....ended up selling it again.

EHX Small Clone chorus, sold it, bought it back again, missed the simplicity on the one knob chorus.

Uhhhhhhh probably a pedal or two I'm forgetting about....they all blur together after a while lol
