The top 'pancake-style' ones have a lower profile so can get the pedals a bit closer.
I've used the George L's for many years, but would try the Lava cables if I went that route again as they have smaller jacks and apparently are more reliable than the George L's (always depends how well you assemble them of course). Currently I've returned to the hardwired approach after a couple of cut-outs during gigs and am more than happy with the Dimarzio Jumper cables as my set up is a lot simpler than in the past.

Either way, it'll be last in the chain as I use its DI, plus the output is line level.
