^ Whoa....never saw the EBS pedal connectors before! I'll have to check them out. I do believe the flat head connectors a couple of posts up are Hosa's.

Looking forward to more info on the new VooDoo power supply too. It would be great if it fit in/under a mini.

Those flat-head connectors do look useful. I use several of the EBS connectors and they're very good, though of course sometimes the ins and outs of adjacent pedals don't quite line up enough for them, even for the offset version.

Just spoke with VoodooLab, the Iso-5 power supply will be coming out later on in the year. It's certainly smaller than the PP2+, though apparently has a similar height, which I believe would be the limiting factor on a Pedaltrain Mini... don't know. Sounds interesting, though... 5 isolated outputs, incl one 18V, though without either the switching capabilities of the PP2+ or the courtesy AC output.

Here's my new set up - ditched the Sadowsky and Barber LTD, added two new guys which I am completely in love with - the best fuzz I've heard/played and the best clean preamp and OD in one box...the xotic is tiny for how awesome it is. I'm still waiting on my electronix submarine to fill it up completely, and then I'll be done for a while - eventually I'd like an octaver and a EHX stereo electric mistress again, but I dont need/want them anytime soon.

Ok, I just spent some time really tweaking all these - you guys are right, the Red 442 after the dirt pedals sounds amazing.
My settings are:
I've got the BB set for just the slightest hint of dirt, right around 8 o'clock, with the bass and treble boosted to between 1 and 2 - this is exactly the tone that I wanted to get from the boost/give channel on my GK head. Puts an edge on the sound without actually overdriving = win

The supercollider starts to choke on its own awesomeness with the gain any higher than 2 or three, so it's hovering just below there for now. Depth and tone knobs maxed (all the way left and all the way right respectively) I leave the mids alone playing with my 115 cab, I havent figured out a way to make it sound good with my 2460.

I cant settle on one position for the range knob on the filter, it all depends on the sound I want and the are on the neck I'm playing. I keep it above 1 for all of them tho, any lower and it gets boomy I think.

My only grip about the mini is that all my 6" cables are to bunched up underneath and lift my pedals off the board - anyone have a remedy for this? I'm thinking custom George L's that would be shorter and save space with the smaller heads, but I'm still looking for other alternatives

So yeah, I'm happy, and pretty much gas free. An octaver and a chorus/flanger will fill me out nicely in a little while, but as soon as I get my submarine from Os I'm calling it quits here on the effects forum for a while.

Same thing is happening with my mini. I got some cable "tie down" that little plastic gigs with sticky backs, but the tension on the cables are pulling them off the bottom of the board. I may need to go with George L's or some of them flat head cables.

The main thing isn't the connectors, but the size (gauge) of the cables that is creating the pull.

What prompted you to ditch the Sadowsky?

It's big, heavy, and is battery powered. It's a great sound, and if i were playing out live or recording a lot I would keep it as a dedicated DI and not on my board, but for what I do the Xotic is much better. It has similar tone shaping capabilities (actually more since the EQ is cut and boost) in a smaller package with a 9v option. I also am pleasantly surprised with the Xotic's gain control and the overdrive it produces, but I didn't know that before I bought it. It also has a ton of gain on tap, so it could be a clean boost if I had a nice tube amp (someday!). I'm interested in seeing how it interacts with the tube in the GB Shuttle 12 that I hope to order as soon as someone buys my GK.

So again - size, weight, powering options, and versatility.

I've added a BYOC chorus, now I'm up to a count of five!

There was no way with my old patch cables that I could fit a BYOC Chorus inside, so I changed them to flat heads.

Here's the close up of the flat heads that enable me to squeeze a 5th pedal into a board that already has 2 huge pedals - the VXL Bass Attack and the Korg DT-10.

Look at the tight squeeze lol :)

I'm pretty neutral to the BYOC chorus. to me, there's not enough delay as I would like for the sound. I can turn the depth knob for more delay, but then there would be too much de-tuning effect. I use it only for 2 songs in the line up, so for now, it's kinda ok...

right now those 5 are all I need for my current needs, so I don't see myself adding anymore in the near future. I can get the tone I want from the VXL Bass Attack and the GEB-7 but I find the tracking of the DT-10 quite slow (i'm used to the Zoom B2 tuner that tracks crazy fast).

For future downsizing I'll be looking at the largest pedal first - the VXL Bass Attack. I like the harmonics knob of the VXL, so if I'm going to replace it it'll probably be the Aguilar Tone Hammer for its AGS, but how does the Tone Hammer compare to the VXL in terms of size? I can't find the dimensions anywhere posted on Aguilar's site!

Next pedal for downsizing will probably be the Korg DT-10. I'll probably replace it with the smaller Turbo Tuner rather than the Pitchblack.

But all that is if I need some more space to squeeze in another pedal, which for now I don't see any need yet.... so come on feed my GAS, any suggestions? :)
