Pedaltrain MINIs United Again!

Here is the board I'm working on. I've had the nano and JR before, but I've found the Mini is the best size for me. I went on a bit of a pedal spree last year, only to realize that I only use a few pedals enough to justify having them. I also have a Zoom B3 that covers any effect needs that may arise.

I know the MXR stuff sometimes gets a bad rap around here, but for what I use them for, they sound great.

Only things I'm missing is an ISO-5, to get the Comp running at 18v (sounds even better to me), and some sort of boost/eq to raise the level of my J before it hits the comp. I've considered the Phat Phuk B, some of the Moore pedals, and the Micro Amp, but I'm leaning towards waiting for the new MXR pre. I'm open to suggestions though!

I may also switch out the Polytune for a TU-3, just to get a buffer on there. ImageUploadedByTalkBass1392505160.078080.jpg

Quick question. I used a Plutoneium Bass Chi Wah Wah for some time as it fits on the PT Mini. However, my newer band led me on the search for a more versatile wah with a lot of variables. The EBS Stanley Clarke Wah was the answer. Of course, this doesn't fit on the board, so I'll need to sit it on the floor next to it. I'm curious how you guys have done similar setups as it would normally be in the chain between the after the tuner and compressor but before the other effects.

Easiest way would be to have two long cables always plugged in to the jacks of the board pedals and set up the Wah (great pedal, BTW) at the gig. Other option would be a relay box or other hard wired send and return jacks.

Not an actual mini, but a board cut to the same dimensions so I could use the Dewalt toolbox trick. Working great, and it's so satisfying to pack all my stuff into that box for easy transport.

More pedals coming soon, so I'll have to move some stuff around to make room. Muff is on the way out, as soon as I get a TAFM.

I prefer the T-Rex Chameleon because it fits very nicely into the front section for the Mini. I have an ISO-5 and it's too wide.
Hey Jeff,
I've been reading that the Chameleon 'hums' a bit. Apparently, the hum is mechanical vibration (power supply maybe?). It's been said that one can hear it (acoustically, not coming through the electronic signal).
Have you experienced this with your Chameleon?

Have my board to a state that I'm quite happy with, although I won't say it's a permanent state as I'm always wanting to change things.

Replaced my Darkglass VTM with the Deluxe version, mainly to have a DI option on the board. Also still not 100% with the Green Mile, although it isn't bad.

I've seen a few have Polytune Minis on their boards. Anyone tried turning it horizontally and having it up the top of the board, to give room for another/bigger pedal? Obviously there's nothing there for it to sit on, so would need to make something.

Also wish the two 3leaf pedals didn't look so similar, on a dark stage it's too easy to hit the wrong pedal!

I've done that on a nano, works fine. As you said, for a mini you'll need to find something to raise it up. Or ... if it was sitting behind two mooer sized pedals, you'd then find you could use the existing support, as I do.

Wow that's a full board! How is the Thunderball compared to the Green Mile?

The way that I use them they're very different. I'm rarely interested in full-on distortion, so both are set just on the edge of breakup. The Thunderball is on the fuzz setting, and at the edge of breakup it sounds warm and natural to me ... not a million miles from the red dragon on the edge of breakup. By contrast, the green mile at a similar kind of setting is more sizzly or fizzy.

With the Thunderball in distortion mode and driving both pedals harder you might come to different conclusions.
