Pedaltrain MINIs United Again!

Here's my nano board. It changes all the time, depending on what I'm working on. I did a theatre show last week.

Sometimes an octave pedal, sometimes envelope filter...

I have an sfx Micro Red Dragon on order, and I'll be checking out the Mooers to see if they work for me. I'm also thinking about a Volto for power, and then I can move the Gator back to the big board.

I have an M80 case with a Tick - the perfect one tripper. :D

The attraction of the Volto is no cable. I know I'd have to be sure to recharge it, though.
Yeah, that--and for me, that's a biggie--plus (from the Pedaltrain Volto FAQ):

Combining Outputs for Higher Output
Volto’s outputs cannot be combined to boost or modify its output.

Isolated Outputs
Volto’s two 9-volt outputs are not isolated.

I'm not sure I see any significant advantage over other types of non-isolated power solutions.

Believe it or not, I am thinking along the lines of getting a T-Rex Chameleon for a Mini build. It'll fit in the 'gutter' of the Mini, or underneath.

Here's an example of one in the gutter: Invalid Link Removed

Here's one way of doing it underneath:http://ztalk.proboards.com/thread/57030/pedaltrain-mini-augmented-power-supply

Here's another way to fit it underneath: Invalid Link Removed

In the above example, basically, the gutter was filled with a woodblock (painted black it appears). Then, the front of the Mini becomes the back and visa versa. This allows the Chameleon to fit underneath the Mini on what now is the 'front'.
Then, you just glue two larger rubber feet (rubber leg tips like these: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-Black-Rubber-1-in-Leg-Tips-4-Pack-49128/203661031) onto the Mini's existing front feet.
Finally, place your pedals and rock! :-)

Well now... Some updates planned for this week. I decided on the Volto, and it works like a dream with four pedals. The form factor is perfect.

I'm headed to Toronto later this week, and will check out some Mooer pedals. I'm thinking of an xotic EP boost too, and I'm waiting for my sfx pedals to arrive. Lots of choices, and lots of testing ahead. Pictures to follow...

I prefer the T-Rex Chameleon because it fits very nicely into the front section for the Mini. I have an ISO-5 and it's too wide.

i bought the chameleon for my PT mini after seeing your photo. would you mind telling me how you secured it in that front tray? it doesn't wedge in nice and tight and will need to be secured somehow...velcro along the bottom? the PT velcro isn't thick enough to clear the mounting screws in the chameleon...so a thicker velcro (or something else) would have to be used. just curious what you're doing...thanks.

well, since i hadn't heard a response from anyone about this, i decided to rig together a combination of using industrial strength velcro (that i bought from home depot). the felt side of this velcro still doesn't quite clear the screws on the chameleon, but it's slightly better than the pedaltrain velcro. but i'm also holding it down with 11-inch catamount cable ties (i'm using two of them). i honestly can't think of another way to do this. so far so good. we'll see how it holds up during transport.
