Penn Gillette playing RIC on TV

Are you implying that the existence of Rics is proof positive that there cannot possibly be a benevolent, merciful and well intentioning omnipotent deity?

I've had my annoyances with rics too, but that's harsh, man :D

LOL.

Actually my deity of choice would be Quetzalcoatl, god of, among other things, COFFEE! :hyper:

If you're talking about me, I was absolutely not bothered by the joke, just genuinely ignorant.

If it was Bruce Lee, and someone wrote, "Of course a martial artist is plays a RIC.", I'd have no idea what that meant either.

Not pointing at any one person in particular. When and if I do, a quote will be included. There are a few posts here that seem to be composed from atop a soapbox. Bugged me. I should probably delete my previous post to avoid bothering anyone else.

Peace. Play bass.

This thread hasn't been closed yet? I'm shocked.

Keep it on topic and it shouldn't. Religious debates aren't tolerated because people don't like to respect one another's preference (especially behind a keyboard).

This is a cool thread though. I had no idea Penn was a bassist. I didn't even know he was an atheist. I just knew that he was a magician.

I thought being an atheist was a requirement to be a magician.:D

Atheism is not a faith at all...much less a fundamentalist one. My atheism is not absolute certainty, but simply a manner of reasoning where I seek evidence for conclusions I draw about the world around me. Of course there are things have yet to be proven - but in the absence of proof, strong and convincing evidence by deductive reasoning is usually good enough.

Atheists should't bother you any more than people who don't believe in the existence of Santa Claus, or the Tooth Fairy.

I don't seek to change anybody's mind about the existence of god. But I also don't understand how people can partition their minds to be reasonable in one sense and totally faithful in another.

you're going to crap yourself when you get reincarnated!

I had a bass player moment when I saw Penn with a Ric in hand. I pointed it out to the people I was watching Celebrity Apprentice with and I got a "Okay...That's nice..." Look from 'em. Hahaha.

Would've been cool if I could here it through the mix.

This is a cool thread with some funny comments,,,

Years back,,I met Penn in Vegas,,,,I was waiting on line at ''The Hardrock Hotel'' to see ''Slash's Snakepit'',,,

Penn ,,just happened to be in line too,,,no ''False Pretenses'',,,no ''Get me to the front'', or ''Don't you know who I am'' ala Reese Weatherspoon,,,,

We know some mutual magicians in New York,,and it was fun to chat with him,,,

He was dressed like most,,,a t-shirt and jeans,,,,

Very cool guy and a music nut like all of us,,,,,,,!!

Alan,,,,,,,,,!!!
