As a Christian, I'm not entirely sure either. I guess it could possibly be a joke - it seems from the heavy disclaimers that it was also apparently controversial as well as funny, but again I'm not entirely sure.
I'd love to see his bass collection. If I had Penn and Teller money......

That's a good point. There used to be a video of Flea's bass collection on youtube and now it's gone. Maybe something happened.

But I don't know what the relation between RICs and atheism is and want to know what I'm missing.
Sorry guys. I guess my sense of humor went off half cocked. To me it had the potential to be more offensive to RIC owners/fans than to any religious affiliation (or non-religious at that). Carry on.
The same relation as Carvins to Buddhists and Gibsons to seventh day adventists.

I know it's a joke. I thought there may be some back story or explanation that tied the two subjects together to make it actually a witty one.
Penn Jillette is, among other things, an atheist and was seen playing a ric. Had he been playing a Gibson, the joke would have been about atheists playing Gibsons, and so on.

I don't know, Geddy, Lemmy, now Jillette...maybe there IS a pattern of atheism and Ric ownership.
Of course, Geddy has gone pretty much all Fender now (even though he's ALWAYS had either a Precision or Jazz on hand even through the seven or eight years he was into his Ric). Maybe some philosophical meaning in that as well?

I dont know how many canadians are on this forum, but theres an episode of just for laughs with penn and teller, penn is playing a white kubicki. Its from the 90s.
