No marijuana in his band?

I dunno, maybe it's a great opportunity to try out a new bass, after all it did say gear would be furnished. Maybe a great prank could be played on this clown. Get a local jazz band to get "hired" one at a time, show up for his ridiculous practices until it's time for the first gig. Midway through the first number break into Mas Que Nada or Freddie the Freeloader. No, Watermelon Man.

That would be beyond amazing. I would pay big $$ to see that

What would really be amazing is to show up with a well known musician under an assumed identity, then record the audition with this guy telling him he isn't good enough.

For instance Neil Peart could show up and add a few signature drum fills during the tryout, then we can watch the guy rage-fire him.

That would be YouTube gold.

Now you're making me wish I actually lived out there.

Better yet, Les Claypool!

Audition, get the gig, and at the first live show, have the drummer and a sax player show up and just start playing this:

That's great! A bit of trivia for ya: the yakkety sax style was made famous by King Curtis who recorded the sax on the Coaster's hit Yakkety Yak. He later went on to front a band that included Cornell Dupree, Jerry Jemmott and Bernard Purdie. He was murdered in 1971 at age 37.

Usually I keep an open mind and civil tongue, but if this idiot basically wants 5 clones of himself, maybe he should go #!?$ himself and his dream band will have come true. Oh, no wait, there's a technical difficulty. His head is already taking up the procreation area in his bum. Only one thing to do then...remove his head from said area, pull the bottom lip over his entirely, and swallow!

Gigadouche is a shining example of why a lot of people don't take so many musicians seriously. Also, I understand some guys have had luck finding bands on Craigslist, but there's a reason that this dip wad is there and posting like this. No one wants to work with a dictator posing as a musician.

The guy knows exactly what he wants and expresses so, with zero room for ambiguity. Bravo in my book - my like/dislike for the genre aside.

Here's a local active ad on my CL -

BASS PLAYER WANTED!

Rock band Looking for Bassist with Stage Presence and Attitude..Ages 20s-30s

...wow, so much work went into that. ZZZZzzzzzz.....

Sorry, but this dude seems sketchy as all hell.

DON'T DO IT. His baby momma Keisha will probably sit on you and suffocate you if you even bring up the idea of your own equipment.

Yeah, but gigadude is gonna be playing in his basement studio, by himself for the rest of eternity with an ad like that. But for sure, it's not ambiguous.

We need to know if the buckets will be provided. He may have a certain type of bucket that his years of experience has determined is the best for beer urination. I'm pretty sure plastic buckets are out, even if they're medical grade, and that metal buckets are in.

All of which absolutely begs the question: What's the best bucket for metal?
