Pet Peeves, let's hear them.

More driving stupidity yesterday...

It actually rained here in Phoenix (!) and of course nobody here knows how to drive in the rain. Two different times on the way home from work I get stuck behind nincompoops who thought it would be a good idea to get on the freeway, scooch on over to the fast lane, and put their hazard flashers on and settle in at 45 mph. :rage:

Those morons are never IN accidents...they just cause them.

People who leave shopping carts sitting in parking spots, usually 20 feet from a cart corral.

Pigs, all of them.

I narrowly avoided being incarcerated in 1999. On the way home from the dealership, after taking receipt of my brand spanking new stealth black Dodge Dakota Sport 4x4 (my first brand new vehicle) I stopped at the market for a couple of items.

Returning to my vehicle after making my purchases, what did I discover? Some jackwagon slowly pushing a stray cart with the front bumper of his rusted out POS, right into the front passenger side of my beautiful new truck.

I ran over and kicked his door in and started shouting all of the things he needed to hear.

I took a close look at the truck and by some miracle the cart had only made contact with the tire. Lucky for both of us. I avoided the courtroom and he avoided a trip to the ER.

Some people suck.

Rude people
People who do not understand how the basic flow of pedestrian traffic should work (don't stop in the middle of a sidewalk, move over somewhere and don't be in the way)
Poorly-worded (whether intentional or otherwise) policy
People who are rude to retail and food service workers
People who complain about tipping
People who don't tip
People who don't take the time to understand the context in which things were said before jumping to conclusions
Passive-aggressive people

This. Especially in the grocery stores. I try to apply the basic rules of the road, but in the store it's the wild west. Costco is even worse. If you stop to look at the shelves, don't park your cart sideways so it blocks the whole aisle. Pull to the side if you want to look at something. Don't back up with your cart into an intersection while looking the other direction. The total lack of situational awareness in people in the store is frustrating.

When I am pondering a purchase in the grocery store, I try to park my grocery cart (I always get the biggest one available even if I am only getting one item) perpendicular to traffic flow. That way I can ensure that no annoying people walk in front of me or behind me while I take my time reading ingredients, trying to work out if the larger size is truly more economical, and consider the costs and benefits of name brand vs generic.

:D

I have very little trouble accepting this as gospel.

I've learned to accept a certain amount of dimwittedness that comes with going out in public and not allow petty annoyances to bother me. But a few things just continue to irritate me.

I hate it when there is a busy intersection with a 4 way stop and one person decides to gesture to other drivers to go ahead of them, even though they stopped first at the sign.

They smugly believe they're being nice by letting others go ahead of them but they're really just disrupting the smooth flow of traffic and even creating an increased risk of accident.

They stop at the line and then sit there gesturing like a symphony conductor.

Smug driver - "You on the left. Go ahead of me. Now you on the right can go. And now you across from me, drive through the intersection. Now I'll go".

Me (screaming inside my car) - "Just take your ******* turn and drive!!!!!!!!"
