Pet Peeves, let's hear them.

Ok, admission of guilt here, I didn't read all the posts to get here, but I usually do. One of my pet peeves as follows; Why do people stopping at red lights and stop signs stop two car lengths behind the car in front of them? It seems to be getting worse! Don't these people know, or care that they're creating more backed up traffic?

They are looking at their phones! I hate this.

"All that once was directly lived has become mere representation." Debord argues that the history of social life can be understood as "the decline of being into having, and having into merely appearing." This condition, according to Debord, is the "historical moment at which the commodity completes its colonization of social life."

Guy Debord - The Society of the Spectacle.

I'd say the worship of style over actual substance, is my little pet peeve. But it's too late now.

If there's room and I'm alone in the car (don't want to get called out by my wife), I pull into the empty space in front of them.
