Pets and bass?

Dog literally does not care

Cool thread. Our dog (Zoey) doesn't mind my bass playing too much...she'll usually go chill in her bed. However, drums is another story. She'll go out of her way to distract me if I hop on the drum set as if she's try to tell me to spare her and the rest of the family lol.

As most animals are, she's very curious and loves to inspect my basses whenever there's a NBD. I didn't have my phone handy for the inspection of all the ones I've unboxed, but here's a few...she approves of them by the way.

The dogs don't care for it, but when we had a parakeet, she would find me, climb up the cord, which always startled me, and want to sit on the headstock. She would join the dogs at the front door, where barking and tweeting ensued, whenever some knocked. The female dog even let her ride on her back.

OK OK so I'm resurrecting a thread... I bet it's still relevant to bassists everywhere. I have dogs. A Miniature Dachshund and a Miniature Pinschers. (Originally made a deal with the wife that she could have a dog if it was small enough to put in a carrier on the bike... she found 2... she's smarter than me. They DO still fit though). Anyhow.... the dogs will not only follow me into the jam room, they'll promptly flop into the bed on the floor... in front of the PA. Then sleep through as much noise as I want to make. They do leave if I start slappin' though... I think that means I need to practice that so they like it better. Tonight I did some revamp on my pedal board and small Traynor... which then required inspecting.....
