Never really needed a phaser before. My band just started covering Stranglehold, which made it a necessity. Got my hands on a Boss PH-2, and it does what I need it to do. For now, I am happy.

I use a Maxon PT999. One knob; hard to mess up. Always sounds great.
I use the 4-Phaser and get close enough to a Phase 90 type of sound.
I love the sound of my Phase90, especially when paired with a fuzz....but despite the dominant opinion in this thread, there's a very noticeable drop in "fullness" and low end when it's engaged.

I used to have a noticeable drop in volume when using my phase 90. I eventually figured out that my phase 90 didn't like another buffer pedal in my chain. So I changed up the order of my chain, and the volume problem disappeared. Maybe you have some similar issue?
