Hey everyone, I have a 200 W class A/B amp that I had built for me a few years ago. At the time I didn't know what I wanted and still to this day have no idea about electronics. One thing I do know is I love this amp. It sonically sounds incredible. I would love to post some pictures and find out some more info from you TB'ers as to what I have (schematic wise). I pulled the beast out of her cage to show you all.

Did you see the one main TB thread from a few years ago? There was another one started by the company, but I think it was deleted pretty quickly. In any case, good to hear from someone with a positive spin.

Good Lord! Glad it sounds good to you. If you know the two cats that dreamed this up, you had better get a schematic from them (even if it's hand drawn) as you'll never find one elsewhere. You are the only person I have ever heard of that had a Philosophy amp, and you may have the only one that was ever made. I remember seeing a new equipment release blurb years ago in some mag and photo showing a cheaply made flat black painted plywood box just like yours. I think I remember a $1,500 price quote.

Yea, when I bought it I was young and just wanted a "boutique" all tube bass amp. Since then I took it to a genius amp guy in town and told him to go through it for me. After about two weeks he called me up and rambled on for about 30min about what he did and seemed to be very impressed by the amp itself. I do know he changed the power supply, caps, some of the resistors, pre amp tubes and the put in the cooling fan so I could run it hotter. With all that said, I still have no idea what to compare it to. Would it be more of an SVT style amp, or a Fender Bassman style. I'm just trying to get a clear picture of what it may be worth some day too. Idk. I'm a lost puppy at this point. All I do know is, it sounds killer and I'm glad I've had it. Thanks for commenting!

You are welcome! Go back to your "genius amp guy" and ask him to draw you up a schematic. Also ask him if it is a Fender or SVT type pre-amp/tone stack and power amp. Or is it a totally new design? He'll know right away.

Next, track down and print out any intel you can find. Try to track down the original designer/builders. You may have a somewhat valuable one of a kind hand made amp. This is something you need to know for sure with documentation from the originators.
