YES! That trans red with pearloid is a Standard Metro option! As is Trans blue with the same pickguard.

This better not be a slippery slope! I don't want you all of a sudden thinking your tobacco F isn't "traditional" enough! ;-) I must admit, I'm really thinking I want to try (buy) a Metro, but wasn't it another thread where people said that they had to try a few before they found a "winner?" I know there's a 7 day approval period, but it would seem to be best if there were several to choose from in person than ordering one.

I will say that ever since I heard Ricky Minor playing his on American Idol...yes...I admit I watched it, I've put one on my wish list. Maybe I'll take a little trip to NYC with the family.

Mike.....to me the trans red stands out and is a little more unique, I think if I saw you with the bass onstage or in a pic it would stand out in my mind:)

hey Bro! My Tobacco Burst Ash/Maple F Bass BN5 is my primary and main gigging instrument. It's not going anywhere! My point was that while I am easily seduced by the Gucci Coffee table highly figured tops, I have realized I am more into the simple, understated elegance of Ash and a transparent stain or even a more traditional solid color bass with pickguard versus the exotic tops. I too would love to try a Sadowsky, more from curiosity at this point. My F Bass leaves nothing to be desired really. The neck is fast, the 34.5 scale is sweet, the preamp is incredibly versatile, it balances well, I love the shape. But one day, maybe I'll add a Sadowsky JJ or PJ to the stable. Gary

I love the Trans Red Nino made with the all black. Problem is that you can't get the Metro's with black hardware. I can buy the Hipshot tuners and string tree(?) but not 100% sure which bridges Roger is using. Looks like a Gotoh. Not sure which model though.

If I could get the hardware in black I'd probably do that.
