I have a replica that I started years ago that I hope to someday complete. Mine has a warmed over 5.0 making around 400 hp. The holdup is a brake problem I haven't ever figured out, and driving 400 hp in a 2000 lb car with only semi-working brakes is terrifying.

It was only recently after someone pointed it out that I realized the Fender Ultra Jazz bass color Cobra Blue was from this iconic car.

I had a 1988 Nissan 200SX with actuated headlights. One of them stuck once, but it was an easy fix with a simple twist of a knob.

Not mine, but it looked just like this.

I pointed out that the technology had probably gotten just a bit better in the last 20+ years.

I remember as a little kid when my parents had a Porsche 914/6 back in the early 70s with the pop-up headlights, they were so cool.

As you say, the technology has changed a bit since then and today the lights are no longer pop up. But when the headlights turn on, the LEDs actually fade from low to high giving the same effect like a pop-up headlight… again, very cool

I remember when my wife and I were first married, we looked at car (can't remember what it was) that had retractable/actuated headlights and she said, you don't want those, my dad had an early 70's corvette with them and they broke all the time. I pointed out that the technology had probably gotten just a bit better in the last 20+ years.

The headlights didn't work correctly on my kids 88 Fiero GT..... plastic rollers in the gear mechanism broke apart after all the years.

Rebuild kits were $8 a side and took less than an hour to rebuild both sides.

Wonder how much the dealer gets for an oil change on that beast?

We occasionally got high end Euro cars in the shop where the customer wanted the $29 oil change special..... except that wouldn't apply to a car like that.

Well, dealer cost for Mobil One 0-40 is $12qt x 8.5qt capacity that's already $100 in just oil, then filter cost + crazy high labor. It won't be $29

But if you can afford the Maybach (there are 2 used 2023's near me going for $212k and $420k) I suppose, oil changes are cheap in relation
