Early 80s Chevy Silverado. My family was pretty much poor in the 70s. We had one GranTorino station wagon and my father drove it to work. So my siblings and mother and I walked everywhere. In '79 my father got a job at a papermill in maintenance and that, to our family, was like winning the lottery. In late 1980 he pulled into the yard in something similar to this.

It was one of many signs that things were getting better financially for my family. To this day I can't help but smile when I see one. I am actually trying to find one to ride around in as a beater just for fun.

I've always loved the square body Chevy Trucks.

My 79 Blazer riding on 44" Super Swampers - I dragged this thing home in a series of boxes back in 1992 and built it in a one car garage.......

Yep, those and the old Morgans have always turned my crank. The US Lotus importer in the 60s was only a couple of miles from the boarding school I went to for a few years and we'd see quite a few of them out getting a shakedown.

I fell in love with the Seven when I saw one in the TV series The Prisoner in the late 60's. I had a '62 MGA at the time, which I loved, but a Seven is the roadster I've always wanted. Still do.

I'd love to drive a Caterham version of the Seven. I did also have friends with MGBs and TR4s back in the 70s, and of course it was pretty easy to rack up driving time spiffs given the ever present specter of roadside assistance being needed.

I'm not a big car guy so I can't appreciate them on the level that you folks do, but as a kid I always loved these (not in this color though). I also loved the air suspension that jacked the car up when you turned it on. (It did do that, right? Or am I remembering wrong because I was a kid?)

Favorite iconic? Probably has to be Hitler's 1939 Grosser 770 Mercedes. Beautiful car.

For me, it'll always be a '57 Chevy. I also liked the '56 and '59 a lot, but the '57 was/is my favorite. As a teen, I always lusted over the Jaguar XKE as well.
