If you look at the sticker price on both cars then it is easy to tell them a part. The Vette is probably around a third the price. Just sayin.

Its a little something they use to refer to as "style" , sadly its a lost art in the traditional auto market these days.

The younger of our parish priests drove one of these. The thought of a priest driving a nice, cool car drove my father crazy!

You'll have to pick between the 440/6 or the Hemi, since you can't fit both under one hood.

The car in the pic is the Hemi, although I wonder how it can run with such a tiny air filter on it.

No he replaced it with the 65 SS396 Impala. That 58 would pass everything except a gas station

I'd rather have the 65 Impala. The 396 was new for that year, the old 409 was also an option in 1965.

I'll add the first generation American Motors AMX, from 1968-1970.

And the 1968 American Motors Javelin as well. This Javelin had a 109" wheelbase, and was a four seater. (Just barely.) The AMX in the post just above was it's two seater variant which had a 97" wheelbase.

I agree. While you can reach thru the window of a new muscle car and blip the key to get it running, there's something about the brute force and ignorance of big inch 60's/70's muscle car that makes them a blast to drive. My 68 ElCamino is a manual steering, manual trans, four wheel manual drum brake car and I enjoy the heck out of driving it.

Plus, no new car will ever re-create that old car smell. Those with older cars will know what I mean.

Those smells are like stepping into a time machine.
