Pick your favorite iconic car from any decade....

And the first car I ever owned was one of these:

Best car ever made. The engine turned the wheels. And made just enough electricity to provide spark and run the lights. No radio, no roll up windows, top was ineffective and blew off, no door handles on the outside, nothing it didn't need. It was perfect. It even ran most of the time.

You just described my 73 Blazer. Paid $400 sight unseen for it and drove it anywhere/everywhere for years until the body fell of the frame. Of the 60+ vehicles I've owned, it's well within my top three of "most missed."

I was driving one just like this in high school. 383 Magnum, 4 speed, posi rear, traction bars, Carter AFB 750 CFM carb, Accell super coil, air shocks, buncha stickers in the rear passenger windows and big fat tires on the back.

I now believe that my parents were trying to kill me. It also came in notch-back (ugly) and rag-top. A very small number were equipped with the legendary Chrysler Hemi. I'd trade my Beemer for one of these in a heartbeat. Then I'd have to man'splain it to my wife who would not be amused.

My father in law has one of these. First one I had ever seen. He's trying to sell it now, but I can't imagine anyone wanting one. Studebakers were some odd shaped automobiles.
Dude..that is one of my favorite cars. Back in 63, that car was so futuristic when compared to other cars. We use call it the Jetson car. Collectors will pay good money for an Avante.
