I am thinking Elon has had a lot of ideas that probably started with a pipe dream. That said, the man has a talent for bringing them to life.
Wall Street hates him because he does not conform with their traditional business model and they can't control him. Instead of wearing a suite and tie, he shows up at events wearing a t-shirt and Levi's. The industrial military complex community hates him because he has been known to smoke pot and has devalued the cost of launching satellites into orbit which has hurt their bottom financial line. Myself, I think the guy as an industrial rock star.

Our 2013 is the same body style as the one in the pic.... and the last of that generation Forester. 2014 saw the new body style and the CVT transmission..... both of which I'll pass on.

My 2004 is the previous generation and FWIW I like it better than the 2013. Even with 165,000 miles (versus the 70,000 on the 2013) I get a better ride, visibility, more cargo room and gas mileage from the 2004 than I do the 2013.

I get it. I had a 2003 Outback before the forester. The overall quality of the Outback was better, but it had a manual transmission and it was a pain during rush hour traffic in the city. I was going to get another Outback, but the new roof rack system is unusabe for those that actually have use for one. The Outbacks are also too big now. For those two reasons, I endend up with the Forester which has treated me well.

I agree about the new body style and I’m not ready to trust a CVT yet.
