I am thinking Elon has had a lot of ideas that probably started with a pipe dream. That said, the man has a talent for bringing them to life.
Wall Street hates him because he does not conform with their traditional business model and they can't control him. Instead of wearing a suite and tie, he shows up at events wearing a t-shirt and Levi's. The industrial military complex community hates him because he has been known to smoke pot and has devalued the cost of launching satellites into orbit which has hurt their bottom financial line. Myself, I think the guy as an industrial rock star.

I had one of these two. Big wagon that dreamed it was a pickup truck. Great for hauling gear. The back half of the roof slid forward and opened up.

My ma had one of those. And a Traveller. Neither were split screen though.

I'm pretty sure I've got a valve lifter in my garage for those motors. Probably even more rusty than an everso rusty thing that's really quite rusty by now though.

See how we go. I might be selling my house in June, and in the interim (when I ain't humping 60's Selmer Combo's down flights of stairs - done btw) I'm doing it up to make it worth hundreds of thousands of millions of pounds Stirling. So I'm quite busy for the forseeable.

Took one of these Rocstas to Noosa Heads in the late nineties. Thoroughly enjoyed the trip: summertime, top down all the way, 800 odd clicks with a cashed-up wild woman radiologist for company. The Rocsta didn't skip a beat. Nice machine, modeled on the Korean army jeep.

But Noosa was so much better: beach bungalow to call home for a fortnight, mountain biking all over, good company, steamy nights in the sub tropics, long hot days; surf, sand, and sunshine
