Pick your favorite iconic car from any decade....

S1 Jaguar E Type. Probably a 64-67.
Oh yes now you're talking.. Proper cars...
I did a few hundred miles in an S1 Coupe many moons ago :) Around Christmas 1977
They weren't anywhere near as valuable back then though.

How about a '62 Lightweight?

Yesterday I saw ' Chasing classic cars' (Wayne Carini) and saw a BMW Veritas. Probably the biggest BMW ever made.

Very interesting.
I'd not heard of that before, and a bit of googling suggests it's the only one in existence, and apparently a Veritas re-bodied by a company called Spohn.

Thanks for posting.

Is This The Lost 1949 Veritas?

2006-maybach-62-6.jpg

A while ago I was cycling along the river when I saw this huge Mercedes like car standing at the side of the road with a uniformed driver waiting in the drivers seat. A Maybach 62(S).
It was near a restaurant, so I guessed the passenger was having a (business) dinner.
The car was probably too long to fit on the parking lot. Quite impressive in real life.

Overall length of 243 inches..... that's just about the same length as my extended cab long box diesel Chevy truck.

That Volkswagen Type 181 had a sort of 4 wheel drive two stroke older cousin, the DKW Munga.Invalid Link Removed

Audi later used the 4 wheel differential of the Munga for their Quattro.

There's also a 4x4 version of the Citroën 2CV, called 'Sahara'.

It had 2 engines, one in the front and one in the back. Connected with rods trough the gear box.

The Citroën Méhari is a 2CV based buggy like car.
