Pickguard or no pickguard?

My last purchase came with a white pickguard and a chrome plate... I thought that with the black pickguard and the black plate I would like it more... I bought a black pickguard and another tortoiseshell one and a black plate and potentiometers... so I thought that when I get tired of the appearance I will change it and it is similar to having a new bass hehehe however right now I have it without a pickguard and with the black plate and potentiometers... and for the holes of the pickguard (which as mentioned before, looks ugly) well, their screws are painted black... there are all kinds of tastes.
