Pickup installation problem.

Hi there
I just recently bought some Seymour Duncan SSB-4's for my epiphone thunderbird, and long story short the wire from the neck pickup isn't long enough. It needs about 2 cm to reach the part where I have to solder them to.

What can I do about this?

Just put some shrink-wrap around it.

Why would it affect the sound quality to extend the leads a few inches?
I highly doubt that you would notice any difference.
Worst case senario is a solder joint could go bad.

Not if you use quality wire of the same gauge and similar strand configuration. Proper solder joints are assumed.

It's funny how people think there is something magical about instruments. Passive electric basses are very simple circuits using very simple components.
