Found this one, dated late 1967. I was just about to turn 15 when this was taken.

This one is from early 1968 with the same bass (Raven T2B that I rebranded with a Vox stick-on logo)

My first bass was a '79 T-40 natural. Nice paneling, eh? Extra credit for correctly guessing what the background poster is.

...and the bass that replaced it only a year later, a '80 Ric 4001.

I still have the Ric, and I wish I hadn't sold the T-40. I got a nice '80 SiennaBurst T-40 last year, just to make myself whole again!

sorry no pic's survived but my first bass was A Memphis p copy, I hated that bass.

+1. I remember having a picture of me in my room and you could see the bass off to the side, from the back, but there were no action shots that I remember.
Given how lousy that bass was, I'm shocked I'm still playing!

No shots of bass # 2 either ( black Kramer Duke) but I have a bunch from bass # 3 and up. My dad was pretty good about taking pics of me practicing with my various basses over the years so I have kind of a running slideshow of basses from the early 80s till the early 90s.

I just need my stepdaughter to help with getting them into digital format.

I'll be back later today with a few to contribute.

HA! I wish!!. It is actually a Lotus P-bass copy body that I took out onto my porch and 'relic-ed', an Allparts fretless P-bass neck with Hipshot pre-CBS style reverse tuners, Seymour Duncan QP pickup w/ EMG BTC control, and an aftermarket bridge cover. I had routed a J rout to make it a P+J but ended up taking out the J pickup as I liked the way it sounded with the single pickup, hence the Radial sticker covering up the rout, hehe.

Isn't that what stickers are for? :p

I've posted these pictures a while back in a different thread..I guess it fits in this one.
My daughters first Bass..60's Tele...P Bass these days.:smug:

That is a priceless photo! Even better since she's still playing! (as in, not just put in her lap for a photo) Rock on!
