View attachment 1200851 1980 fender precision special and the J pickup is not stock
Although it doesnt smell of smoke im thinking its seen some nicotine in its life. The fretboard is maple but it looks roasted and the finish on the back of the neck has almost all been played off. Its a beast for sure, I do have the original white guard and a few black ones and a gold one I may play around with because I to and usually not a tort fan but it does seem to fit this bass. That is effing awesome looking! Not normally a fan of tort, but with the off white body and pups that thing is lights out.
The new baby on the left...

Mmmmm…Sherwood Greeeeeeeeeeen. drool
Correction, this is an earlier model (1999-2001) which sported a rather rare color...British Racing Green.
Maybe someday I'll get it right. Of course it is…because the last time I pointed at something and said "British Racing Green!", I got corrected and told it was "Sherwood Green".Maybe someday I'll get it right.
Either way, 'tis luscious and bootiful!![]()
No worries, didn't intend to ruffle feathers. Sherwood is a bit darker, and it's metallic. BRG is a solid color with no metallic in it.

Well what was great about this one was the photo from the seller on craigslist was so dark it looked black and you could barely see it had a J pickup, awful photo and just one. However he described it as GREEN and I knew a J pickup was there. It was worth driving 2 blocks away from my designated practice spot for the $50. Action was awful and the board was dry but a little TLC while I watched netflix and this one turned out to be a player. Now I have a Tort, black and gold guard I can try on.
Gold is a must
I just acquired this Spl. Edition Deluxe PJ Precision. The price was right on it, and I always wanted to get another one.

My, but I've been seeing a lot of this bass today!
Great bass, hope you enjoy the playing as much as I enjoy the look!
