I was getting worried haven't had a Ric thread in a couple of days.
There aren't any QC issues with my 4003 "Electric Lady".

No,.......... but it does look like it.
Very good observation Sir. It's resting on a hassock to a recliner chair. The giant's finger from the side.![]()
Your favorite, and my favorite Ric color, Ruby, has been discontinued. To time consuming to make up, and apply, as per John Hall.

That's gorgeous I can't wait to get mine I love the color because if you ask eight different people what color they think it is? you'll probably get seven different answers.![]()
I heard that one of the parts of the application of the Ruby color, involves a silver bottom coat. That's where I guess it has the abilities to take on the appearance of being a different color, or shade in the lighting it's in. A great color to keep, not discontinue.
I agree, but they're trying to clear the backlog and ruby was taking too much time. I'll be happier with this decision if they then do some cool new stuff after the backlog is under control.

I'm just got a couple of Fenders after decades of playing mostly Ricks. I find i tend to like playing fingerstyle on the Fenders better than the Ricks, and pick style less, because of the wider string spacing.I understand why some become haters after playing Ricks which are not set up well. I almost did. Once they are set up properly, hold on to your boots.
For me, it's tough to play almost any other brand because I've become so use to a narrow taper neck. One of the reasons I sold my Fenders.
