Playing bass with bare feet

Fyi since this is dated, the police did identify the faulty wiring that killed her. Depending on the electrical circumstances a pair of shoes may or may not have made a difference.

Still - better safe than sorry. A hard hat probably isn't going to save you from a pipe wrench falling from 5 stories up, but there's still a lot of it will protect you from.

Years ago, I've tried playing the bass guitar without any shirt. I could not stand it - my leather strap would stick/glue to my body.
No, it's not for me.
One time, I was almost electrocuted on stage (yes, I was wearing shoes,) but it doesn't matter, I will wear shoes, unless it's my Tai Chi.

I honestly hate the feel of being barefoot. Ever since I was a child I was horribly afraid of hurting myself on sharp objects. Perhaps that's because I did hurt myself twice. Once I stepped on a nail with only socks on, and once I stepped on a broken shell at the beach. Very not cool.

It was a lady down the street cut her foot out in the yard, she went inside and cleaned it up a little, she has got five or six cats...

She came up with a pretty serious infection that put her in the hospital for like 3 months and she almost lost her foot, and she's still not healed, still got the cats, I don't think the place is all that clean and she keeps reinfecting the foot and goes into the hospital -- three times since she was released after the first go round of 3 months. I think it's just a matter of time before the amputation.

I once played barefoot on an outdoor wooden stage at the Jersey Shore. I apparently got a spider bite on my foot which started hurting right after the gig. I came down with a fever that night. I did play a lot of other gigs barefoot without incident but beware there can be some risk involved.
