Playing electric like an upright

Recently pulled my high school beater electric bass, a late 80's Kramer Striker, out of storage. Did all the Billy Sheehan/EVH/Jaco homebrew mods over the years, rattlecan refinished it twice, defretted it with a flathead screwdriver, you name it. Played it on an extended "Third Stone from the Sun" at a college jazz ensemble gig before mothballing it for a decade. Got the neck worked on and set it up DGCF with heavy nylon tapewounds for a new project that canned me right before the first rehearsal with it, back in the closet for another decade.

Seemed ripe for a fake upright revamp, so here's my proof-of-concept video:

Screwed a 4 foot long piece of trim wood to the back for an endpin, raised the action on the middle 2 strings, and jammed some foam under the strings. Gonna play it for a few days before pondering more portable/removable endpin or stand options.
