Nick name bestowed upon me by a guitar player many years ago when I had very long red hair. Under stage lights, with my hair hanging forward, he said all he could see was my hair and my nose, "sort of like a red rhinoceros".
Side note: my girl friend is reading this thread with me, which resulted in the following exchange:
GF: "Bass players sure are weird."
Me: "You're just figuring that out?"
GF: "Yeah. Up until now, I thought it was just you."

Mom is Japanese. In the old videogame arcade days, I'd use AJP or AJAP, for initials on the high score lists. After the turn of the millenia, computer programmers must have deemed it offensive and rejected it on websites. Had to go with the plural version - Ajaps. Now have to use the plural squared version - Ajapses.
Mine's from a childhood staple. I actually got a PM from someone who thought I had arguably the coolest handle on TB.

Believe it or not, my handle has nothing to do with busking. I am into old Vw busses, I bought and sold enough of them that my friends started calling me the bus king. I changed the to das to make it sound more German....
I wrote a spoof on Vince Lombardi's "What It Takes To Be Number 1" that got published in the Atlanta Journal/Constitution. The Atlanta teams were doing so poorly at the time we would have settled for much less than #1. The spoof was called "What It Takes To Be Pretty Darn Good". It got a lot of response and I became PDGood thereafter.
I was dubbed "The EH Man" by friend/fellow columnist Al Pepiak at Guitar Digest because of my interest in Electro-Harmonix. I wrote a column for the magazine for a while while accumulating what was probably the largest collection of EH products in the world. I'm over it now and have sold a lot of it off.
Years ago, my friend John and I got into the habit of adding the word "man" after the other guy's name. Basically, goofing on hippies. It's been over 30 years and we still call each other John, man and Dave, man.

Obviously, mine is the second song from Rush's "Signals" album. But, despite having first heard that song 30 years ago, I still somewhat identify with the boy mentioned in its lyrics.
I was playing an MMORPG. There was this girl. I don't even know if it was a girl. They sent me pictures. I made a new character with their name spelled backwards as a tribute. I liked the way it looked so much I've used it ever since. I don't even know how to pronounce it. When people ask me if it's pronounced (insert their pronunciation) I just say yep.
