Yea, if your choices are down to that, the BTB will do.. But, I do think you'd prefer a Cirrus over the BTB. I am not a Yamaha, nor an Ibanez fan... BUT, Ibanez > Yamaha.
Ok, I'm set to go for an Ibanez, I just need to know how they do about staying in tune, if someone has an Ibanez could please say something to me? Thanks!

I think you should try to find a used bass. I live in Europe too, and belive me, there is a lot of bassguitars to choose from...I would recommend a musicman/stingray. You can find them nice priced. Good luck

Hi, Woocash! If I can find a MusicMan at a good price I will give it a try, but assuming I won't be able to find one in a short time, that Ibanez BTB405QM is really on my mind...

Well, they are a Decient bass, but the thing is they are put up against there own price... So say that bass gets a 9 or 10 out of 10, it cost only $700 (ish) so "ITs a GREAT bass for $XXX" but you may talk to other people sporting F basses and Fodera's (Easily top over $3,000 U.S.) And they would give it the same Review 9 or 10 out of 10.
SO I guess putting this thing up against the BEST basses I could think of... It may manage a 5 or 6. And that is INCREADIBLE for its price...

Yep, I was thinking about the same thing... But for the price... what more can you ask? I'm also gonna pickup a used Roland RD-700 this weekend for about 1100 euros, since I can't afford a new one, and if we get a better guitar, we can easily achieve the 3000 barrier, but instead of 1 instrument we get 3! That's life!

Hey I'm a keyboard player, I chose the Musicman Stingray5.
If your bassist is on a tight budget, try out the Musicman SUB5. Same sound with no finish and cheaper materials.

If it must be an Ibanez, then hands down go for the BTB basses. However if you can find it over there, consider the G&L Tribute L2005 which I think is under $600 (US) and comes with a great gig bag. Super bang for the buck. I've also tried a few Korean made Schrecter Diamond Series basses that were excellent the the money.

Another mention for the BTB - it sounds amazing and feels great. Not to mention it looks freakin' awesome! Get the BTB! 
What the hell kind of comment is that? Yamaha makes some superb basses, played by the likes of East, Patitucci, Myung and others. You played a Yamaha and it was terrible. Which model? How old were the strings? Was it set up properly? Had it been hanging on the wall at GC for three years? What amp did you play it through? Were you using Tara Labs cables? Like most other mass-producers, Yamaha makes basses in all price ranges, and the $300 ones are not as good as the $4,000 ones. Jeez.cgworkman said:I recently played a Yamaha bass and it was terrible. get a Lakland 55-02 or a Music Man Stingray 5 - you won't regret it.
My TRB5-PII is a far better bass than my Stingray 5, in construction, fit, finish, tone, versatility and looks. They're pretty much even in everything else.
He probably dosent know that all of those things make a Difference, because if he did, he would have said "But it was/Had..." or something of that nature.

almost every fret up and down the neck was near razor sharp on the edges. the first few times i ran my hand up or down the neck - it hurt. If I'd kept this bass in my arsenal, then I would have had to break the file out to fix this - That's not something I should have to do when I spend $1300.
The finish was 2nd rate - there were little specs and what have you in the paint job - it looked like specs of dust or like they used a cheap paint applicator. And to top it off - the finish just felt cheap. That's not a $1300 finish.
The electronics were nice however. Very quiet. The NE-1 parametric EQ is a nice touch. No complaints here.
The "fingerpicking" tone was nice - but if you want to "slap" at all this isn't the bass for you. The slap tone was so brittle it sounded like someone dropping anvils on the concrete. But that's subjective.
Overall it was construction that really turned me off. As i stated the finish was substandard, and the fret job was terrible. If I had paid $400 for this bass then it would have been a heck of a deal!! -but for $1300, well, I have to say that it was somewhat of a let down - IMHO.
As far as your reactions - To quote one of you "Jeez." Maybe we should all think before we type....huh?!?
To each his own - that's why there are many great basses out there - something for everybody - including Yamaha's......
