The Farter - the big dude who eats God knows what before a gig and then you can't bear to be on the same side of the stage with him.
The Hot Tempered Maniac. The guy who loses his temper over every little thing that doesn't go his way. Load outs are a sure thing when all the gear doesn't fit easily into the van.
The Leader's Girlfriend who sorta sings backup, but not very well.
The Stoner who forgets arrangements.
The Guy/Girl who is always the last one on stage after a break no matter what. You always wind up waiting for them.
The drummer who has no ear and always has to have someone tune his kit for him.
I played with a female singer that had excessive, silent gas.. I assume it was silent.. who knows.. we'd be playing and the stench would rise.. or fall.. and the guys would look at each other.. silently asking "who did it?" The true test of discovery was during a break.. the lady was fiddling with her mic.. the band returned and the stench was there, but it was "fresh.." it was her.. finally the drummer asked her if she felt ok.. and she admitted she had been silently "letting loose" the entire night. It was quite disgusting.. I have never once, except that night, been so thankful to be surrounded by bar patrons smoking.. the gas smell was masked by smoke.
How about the Leader's Psycho girlfriend? The one that can break up the band? Or the one that argues with him mid song.. silently, mouthing things, stands in the corner with arms folded (happened only once, but was quite funny). The guy told her, "Honey, I am busy now.. can it wait??" She pouted the rest of the evening. They broke up also months later.. she was nuts, though.
The person being late onstage is quite funny.. every band has this.. I care about WHY the person is always last.. generally it's a smoker or a guy calling his girlfriend.. we once had a bar owner tell us to stop taking long breaks.. so what does the guy do from our band? Goes outside and gets on his phone, intentionally.. I was subbing for a band that night..
I played two shows with the "Hot Tempered Maniac".. a drummer who would yell at people playing but we could never understand what he was saying over his drumming.. he would yell "SLOW DOWN" or at least I think so.. yet he was playing fast (drummer dictates tempo).. I was told this drummer stormed out of a practice session and quit.. he tore down his stuff, left the band.. that band got a better drummer and to this day are among the top cover bands in my area.. that guy doesn't play anymore, that I am aware of.. with anyone.
