LOL Like Mike had a choice. I don't think so.

I have already threatened he that if he doesn't take the remaining cash that I will either give it to Ken JUng for a 5 lb. NEO cab (LMAO) or just send the money to his phone and utility companies as payment. I can't be beaten. :D

WE HIT OUR GOAL!

The fund will still be open until Friday night (tomorrow) at 11:59:99 P.M. PST so feel free to continue contributing until then.

The organization will be called:

The Musicians Relief and Scholarship Fund

I am going to get it set up ASAP.

You will be able to:

* Set up automatic monthly contributions of $5 to whatever amount you indicate
* Donate used gear to be sold with the proceeds going directly into the fund

I am going to be setting up a Board will a few other people to discuss and implement the fund.

Monies will be given to those who are truly in need AND I am setting up a Scholarship portion of this organization to find and award scholarships to musicians and people aspiring to be engineers.

If we simply got 500 people to donate $10 a month we could raise $5,000 a month easily and be able to REALLY help some of our brothers both within TB and outside.

Possibly help a music school in New Orleans or Mississippi. The skies the limit.

Brotherhood and friendship are still somewhere in this world.
And I sincerely wish your disease to get away and hopefully I'll be glad to learn you're completely ok.

Mike that is a great idea! Make sure to keep me in the loop, I want to help any way I can.

There is a blues cat here in the ATL-area (Mudcat) that does stuff for this great foundation called Music Maker Foundation:

On another note...When Katrina hit, Atlanta and many cities in the southeast found a influx of talented musicians that were from Biloxi, Gulfport and NOLA flowing in. There were many blues jams and other fund raising gigs that generated some solid contacts for many of the cats that came to ATL to get gigs and work in our city...

That bass is going to be great! Very few of us ever get a possession with so much meaning and heart wrapped up in it, much less an instrument that we can go on and create art with. I know I spend a great deal of my time involved in my own issues and small world view. It's really incredible what can happen when we open our eyes and think about others and direct our energies away from ourselves!
