Wow. Just this afternoon I was thinking about the internet and how much of a cesspool it is. Then I come here and read this and I'm reminded how great the talkbass community is, and how blessed we are to be able to say we're a part of it.

Mike, as someone who has been unable to work for nearly all of the last 2 years my heart goes out to you. I know some of what you are going through. I don't know if you believe in God or not, so I offer these words of encouragement for you to take or leave as you please. It says in Jeremiah 29:11 -

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

You'll get through this and be able to look back and smile one day :)

+1 It certainly seems that our community has been hit hard by a number of afflictions, but God has been right there (as have our fellow bassists!), and together, we'll see it through stronger than ever! :)

As it relates to me.
No it isn't open. This is finished. And don't argue with me!!!;)

Mike, you are truly a dear and close friend.
I can say that almost everything Mike mentioned is equaled by my feelings.
We have never met, but it feels like I'm talking to my brother.

Again, there have been too much done already and if anything else happens to come in, then it will be put aside as Mike laid out for another fund to help the other guys.

I am totally floored by all this. Rendered pretty much speechless.
God moves through all of us in different ways and this was just another example of how the will of God influenced the good of man.

I Thank You all from the bottom of my heart.
Like I told Mike, I'm the wrong person for this IMO. There are a lot more people deserving than I.

Prayers & blessings in everyway to you Mike.

I'm proud to be in a family of bass player where everyone can do a part even tho we are are miles away.
There's nothing better than to come back from from a fall and to have a "family" waiting and supporting you.

Mike- When I first saw you playing on Tom's videos I was totally amazed. You are a great player. After I heard of your illness I was sadened that it happened to such a great guy. I placed you on my prayer list, and then asked God how I could help. The next day I received a PM from Mike asking for donations to help out. I couldn't give much, but God blessed me that day by giving me the opportunity to help out a fellow bass buddy & an all around great guy. We have never met, but I want to say to you & your family God Bless, and I hope that everything works out for you in the future.:)

p.s. Glad to see you are back to work.

BigMike: This is a very wonderful thing you've put together on Mike's behalf. My hat's off to you and to all of the folks who contributed. I hope the account will stay open long enough for me to make a donation.

*****Update*****

I have set a Friday deadline for Mike's Fund. Any money raised AFTER 11:59:99 will go to the next brother in need.

We have TWO bass brothers fighting cancer right now and it is my belief that they should be our next effort.

I didn't know you were sick, Mike... very glad to hear you're doing better now. You deserve the best, dude, keep on keepin' on.



This place is great, and it's people like the people you listed that make this place amazing. You guys are really doing the work that makes humanity still be good.

TB is definately a place that's for more than droolin' at Sadowskys... it's really a great community here. I'm just sad I can't contribute financially, but all of our brothers in need are definately in my thoughts and hopes.
