I met Mike in person just after he found out about this. He was choked up about it to say the least. Can't say I blame him. This kind of thing is beautiful. I wish I'd heard ahead of time, so that I could help out to. I know he'll make us all proud on that thing, too!

I mighta missed it in this thread, but are they still collecting donations on this thing?

Mike, i don't think we've met(here) but i wish you and family good things(you have to be a very nice person) i hope you get well very soon.
in the time that i've been here(1yr) i've seen amazing things happen(Sadowski bass,Adrian Garcia) and now this,i don't regret a bit supporting this site.
God bless everyone involved on this!

Mike,

I had no idea you were ill, or forced to sell gear to support your family. While that's a horrible situation to be in, I just want to say I'm glad you're feeling better and that our bass brethren have been able to help you. If I'd have known, I would have helped out in a heartbeat.

More importantly, this bass will bring you all the magic your life deserves.

Go forth and play.

RAM

EDIT: After seeing post 28, I donated right away. Thanks for posting this information.

Hey Mike,

Sorry I'm late to the party on this one... Big Mike did PM me but I got sidetracked...

In any case, I just sent my donation.

This is a great cause and I think it really underscores the fact that being a bassist is all about support and humanity. I wish you a speedy recovery.

Enjoy that bass - it will be a very special one!

I'm very glad to hear you're doing better, Mike :) And massive props to all the TBers as well as the luthiers who made this happen- I wish I'd have known- I'd have donated as well (must've been hidden in that 36 page Fodera thread in the Classifieds ;)).

I wish I had known too.

Do you need an Amp??
I can put one together for you if you do....
Sing out.

Somebody sing out anyway....

Thanks for the kind words sent my way. It is not by my glory this was done but by HIS!

Mike F. is very deserving and like I told his wife during a very long and tearful conversation "Mike would have done the same thing if I or someone else needed the help!"

I love this place!
