I have been interested in the Epiphone Embassy Pro and have seriously thought about doing a nitro refin in something awesome and metallic. That is a work of art!!!!!

Thunderbirds have such a great shape for good colors that I can't understand why Gibson doesn't offer them in good colors. But, it's Gibson. There's no telling.

This is a Burgundy Mist stacked knob 61 Jazz from the Fender custom shop that I bought new about 20 years ago. Great colour on it but I just couldn't get into this particular bass so it's long gone. Sorry for the poor quality images.

Gibson/Epi has a colour that's pretty much the same as BMM called Heather Poly -

Hah! I just stripped my only red bass ('93 American Standard in Lipstick Red) to be refinished in BMM - way classier than LR, especially on a J.

MJT did a nice job on this. Love a crackle details in the finish. Is the upper horn a little more pronounced or is it just the angle of the photo?

It's a '93 American Standard. The traditional J body was redesigned by George Binda at Fender so it could incorporate a full length 22 fret neck. So yes, it has a longer upper horn for proper balance.

I prefer to see the wood grain on basses & guitars, but if you can't see it--well Burgundy Mist is one of my favourite finishes for Fender & Fender style instruments.

I consider my earlier post a more accurate example of Burgundy Mist, but the mfrs of the 3 basses on the left call the colors you see here Burgundy Mist.
