There's little I can do to remedy time lost on this, since this whole thing was put into motion before I got there, but I will make sure that ALL the Bass Boomers sets reflect this (since it's used across the board).

At least your dealer cost is the same on this set in question. Because of that I have been selling them at the same price rather than marking it up as I'm sure other dealers do.

I do not know of any other brand that repackages the same exact product with a different part number just for an added name advertising it to be something different... Geez... imagine if a big company like apple did that...

I’d always assumed the Flea Boomers were the same as the regular Boomers. I think this way about most endorsed products.

I've decided to remove the "Flea Boomers" from my website. I do not feel it is right for a company to advertise a product as something different than another product of the same exact specifications. I try to keep all products on my website true to what the description is. If M3045 is the same as M3045F I am not going to offer both in any way that can be seen as a way that my company or myself could be misleading customers into believing they are purchasing a different product.


The description of the products on GHS's website make them appear to be different... However they are saying they are not:

Standard GHS Boomer Description:
The GHS Bass Boomers® are the classic Power String and they have been for years. Today they are one of the most popular bass strings in the world and are used by bass greats including the legendary Flea. Like the guitar version, Bass Boomers® feature a nickel plated steel wrap that provides brilliance, volume, sustain and strength, unlike any other bass string.

Flea GHS Boomer Description:
Flea uses the tried and tru formula of the GHS Bass Boomers that the world has counted on for decades. GHS Bass Boomers are a Nickel Plated Steel wrap wire with a special combination of Stainless Steel and Nickel Plate on the low E string. The unique Boomer hex core gives this string added strength. The Red Hot Chili Peppers count on Flea to provide that hard driving bottom end and these strings are a crucial part of that signature sound.


It reads to me that the Flea Boomer description has a unique E-String. However this appears to not be the case.

I do hope my customers will understand why I have removed this set. I try to give the most transparent and accurate information when it comes to the products I represent.

This is the only set I know of where the "signature" set is the "exact same" as another product sold by the same manufacturer. I suggested to them they get rid of the M3045 (standard boomer set) and have that part number supersede to the M3045F set as we now know they are "exactly the same."

I can't tell you how many times I have been out of M3045 and had M3045F in stock but the customer specifically wanted M3045 or the other way around... So pointless...

I believe the under winding is stainless and the outer is nickel plated steel, rather than just two nickel plated steel winding...

DR fat beams used to have Marcus Millers picture on it. He left DR and the DR fat beams stayed the same but dropped in price as his face isn't on it anymore...

What are Fat Beams like? I looked at a pack of those the last time I bought Hi Beams and I wonder what the difference is.

To GHS: Perhaps Bass Boomers just become a ''Flea Endorsed" string and drop the Signature string. As a consumer, it is confusing to have two lines that are the same.

I would suggest you talk to your management about replacing the "Flea Signature" set with the "Balanced Tension" factory set, 45-60-80-105. I will leave it up to you to decided if you want to put my name on it or not.

I am also one that thought the Flea E-string was made a little different to give him (or you) a little more BOOM to his (or your) sound. Glad I did not pay the extra that was charged for the Flea set and got the regular when I was using GHS.

GHS for the years I have been a dealer for them never had a price difference in the suggested retail or dealer price. The selling price is set by the dealer.
