Poll: Custom Sadowsky Build, need your opinion

Which finish do you prefer?

So I'm getting ready to order my first custom Sadowsky. It will be a Will Lee 5, 59 Burst with Black Hardware and no pickguard or control plate, but I can't seem to settle on a finish. I'm trying to decide between Spalted, Flame or Quilted Maple.

Quilted:

Flame:

or Spalted:

thanks!

I love spalted maple but on that bass, because of the block inlays, I think the quilted top looks best (the vertical aspect of the blocks work well with the vertical aspect of the quilt in my opinion). Spalted maple would be my second choice.

Of those choices I will pick spalted but I like burl maple better :)

I usually like flamed better than quilted, but that is some really pretty quilting on the example pic you posted. If you can get that actual bass, I'd go quilted. Otherwise, I'd say flamed. I like the spalted look sometimes, but I don't think I like it as much as the others under that sunburst.

But of course, that's my opinion. It's your bass and your money. Get the one you like.

With the 59' Burst i think the flamed Maple will work best, I DID have a Sadowsky 59' burst over quilted maple, it looked fantastic.

Spalted maple is very pretty but it is so busy that it does not work well with a burst, if you go with a solid finish i would work with the spalted nicely.
