Mostly local gigs but getting out to more regional shows lately. Bands are based in Dallas/Fort Worth but hitting all over Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Arkansas soon.

Is that considered "Buck Owens/Buckaroo" Silver Sparkle? ...The one on the far right looks a bunch like my first bass (gone now darnit), and the one in the middle, well I just like it!

Good eye! Tangent to the thread.

Yeah, kind of is a Buckeroos P Bass, isn't it? Marty Bell large silver sparkle, Allparts body and neck and Fender hardware.

Other 2 basses are MIJ. Very early 90s '51 with added white guard and a Sting signature '54 but neck was swapped out with a blue paisley P in order to get rid of Sting's 12th fret signature.

Well I have a few for gigging, a couple for practice at home, two for rehearsals with the band, and my avatar that holds up a wall in the closet. The right tool for the job I always say. Fender P’s make good tire chocks when you’re afraid your car will roll downhill.

I do actually make my living with local gigs with my basses.
I also voted "Collector" because almost no one truly needs 12 bass guitars.

I use my bass as a means of intimidation and general mischief

It can spread terror to band mates at soundchecks, especially with 3 layers of synth at the soft verse of a ballad or a rather cerebral series of unexpected inversions

It can cause involuntary movement and spasms of people.

It can grey the hair of every sound engineer by bringing it close to a signal source source and or stage lights

It can double as a club in a fight. Swamp ash and maple jazz bass, heavy stuff.

The next step is world domination via a specially constructed rig with the power to level cities and reshape mountains

Just a little demographic survey regarding bass application on TB. How are you using your bass?

At age 71, I still have a few out of town gigs mostly concerts and NYE gigs, enough to say I’m still gigging but not enough to call it a “tour” LOL. Nothing local and no bars, taverns or wineries. I also record a bit having two CD’s released in the last year.

I play electric at a bluegrass jam every Sunday. They all give me dirty looks 'cause it's not a standup bass, but screw 'em, it's my jam.

There was no "corporate/wedding/private events" option. We play local but not bars and clubs.

I use my bass as a prop in my stage act as a mugician, whereby I create the illusion that I can play a musical instrument.

At afew of the seedy places we play, when the 1911 jams and a back-up is needed, that old Jazz makes for a handy-dandy fight stopping club!!!!!

That must take some time in the gym to do it right.

I like straight up mic stands, though time in batting cages helps.

honestly I'd rather maintain my anonymity, but I have worked with members of the band Boston, Peter Tork, Kenny Aronoff, George Lynch (recorded with), BB King's daughter Claudette, plus a bunch of sessions for some semi known folks.

I spend most of my money on bass equipment, drugs and women. The rest I just waste
