I chased the Rock band dream for a few years. Toured a bit and recorded one album. Had kids, settled down and played mostly at church and small gigs. 10 years ago I followed my desire to build my own basses. I now build custom basses and guitars and love it. I practice every day but don't play out much at the moment.
I am a bass player and a luthier and hope to keep doing both as long as possible.

As driver and putter.

Beginner here.
Starting out on bass because my guitar chops isn’t great and I want to play in a hobby band and just drink some beer and have fun.
And also because bass is really cool to play, I’m not a person who wants to be in the center of attention.

As stated, beginner who’s just starting out. Around 4 weeks on bass, I have a very experienced guitar playing friend whom I play a little bit with and we’re starting up a cover band (side band for him) and we’ve found a drummer with some experience and we’re soon about to jam for the first time. It’ll be the first time ever for me and I’m looking forward to it!

Probably to ward off Alzheimer's.

Practising hard to master 3 finger plucking and double thump. But no real goals beyond that. Might see what I can do with it once I feel I've gotten somewhere. Gotta say reading on here is pretty inspirational.

Local gigs.

We play in southern New Jersey but a Philadelphia bar owner was at our last gig and spoke to our LS/BL about playing at his place. Assuming he books us, we joked that playing our first gig in another state would count that as our first official tour date. In reality, it would only be about 20 minutes away for me, but still .... :rollno: :D

Home jamming and noodling, home recording, recording studios and local gigs.

So far no tours since I switched from drums to bass, but hoping to get some travel dates again once we get our next album released and find a new guitar player.

I use my bass as a substitute for drugs and Women.
Oddly enough, I use mine to attract women who have drugs!

(nah, just kidding. I already have a woman who gets her own drugs .)
((plus, it wouldn't matter what I do with any bass of any kind, I'm not attracting any women with my looks or bass playing abilities.))
