Hey how about that guy who ragequit after about 30 minutes of registering a few weeks back. I mean, hey I can be as serious as a heart attack if there is an issue involved and I speak my mind openly, but man, some folks just need to lighten up. A little banter and a few wisecracks kind of break the tension at the end of the day, don't you think ? Sure, there is never an excuse to be outright disrespectful or rude, but extremes go in both directions, ya know ?

Agreed - there are those who go a little too hard here and take things a step too seriously. I pay bills from what I get from my playing and I take it seriously to a point, but it's just playing music and talking about instruments. Guys who aren't even getting paid treat some of this stuff like we're prison guards, air-traffic controllers, or cardiac surgeons.
Unequivocal opinions about if you should/should not use a pick, and that if you do, you are/are not a 'real' bass player - followed by the usual litany of redundant responses about all the famous bass players that have used a pick...
I voted "use the search function." Annoys me because 1) Things change. So if one is asking in 2015 "What is the best lightweight head to take to a gig" the answer is very different than if the same question was asked in 2007. 2) This is so much activity up in this cybercrack that any search on basses, bass gear, etc is like trying to find a needle in a stack of needles.

Hearing "Use your ears" is also my instant volcano mode button.
Cant stand the "use the search" response because there are alot of cases where the thread doesnt warrant that response. But I'm sorry as soon as I saw it I had to place my vote for the "I dont use effects" response in the effects forum. I see that as moronic as if I were to go into the DB forum and start responding there with "I'm not a DB player but (ridiculous opinion that has no merit)". There is a reason why I stay away and dont bother those in the DB forum.

what irritates me the most is ridiculous threads that are like all the others; except with a slight twist to make them just a little different than the rest-
for example-
"is 5.65 lbs too heavy for a micro bass head if it is fitting in a gig bag?" stuff like that.
