Poll: The new TB. What do you think?

Are you enjoying the new TalkBass format?

  • Yes, it’s great.

  • So far so good. Still getting acclimated.

  • Meh. It’s okay.

  • Not loving it. But I’m still hopeful.

  • Not a fan. Must have been designed by a drummer

  • Carrots!!! (first carrot poll option on the new TB!)

Results are only viewable after voting.
As long as the functionality is the same or better, it doesn't bug me with social media type types of messages (badges, rewards, look what everyone else is saying, etc...) and it is somewhat intuitive, it should be okay.

I am getting older and I often see software (or other things) updates where they just move things around to say it's "updated" or "improved" and I am of the opinion of "if it's already good, leave good alone" (i.e. if it ain't broke, don't fix it). If they've made things difficult enough that I can't figure it out and have to ask or look it up, it's a failure.

It's funny to see that we have:
- A majority of negative threads,
- A majority of positive opinion in this poll

Either the haters haven't seen this poll (because there're already gone? :smug:)

Or maybe because haters love to hate loud, while lovers are too shy to congratulate the team (I did, but I'm biased because I work in web design industry so I feel a lot of ampathy for the developers who probably worked super hard, and then received only hateful comments)

It'll get better. It was a mess when it first happened and it's already hugely improved from what it was. In a week or two it'll be just as good as the old one, albeit a little different.

I agree that the mobile version has a lot more room to improve, but I have faith in that too.

Yesterday was a mess, but the team has already improved the response time. At one point, I attempted to scroll up and "upvoted" something. I don't even know what that is and don't particularly care. Hopefully the team will achieve their goals of increased security and ease of use. Yesterday also showed how many react poorly to change. I'm going to maintain my peace and wait to see how everything works out.

I already said it, so pardon me for repeating: the voting system is the best new feature.

In the middile of a 200 pages thread, when you see Agedhorse brings the light, please vote for his comment.

Later, when somebody else wants to read the thread, he/she can sort by votes, and Agedhorse's comment will show up first, bringing the best answer on top of the 200 pages of useless comments.
