snip:: lol, My schools marching band doesnt allow bass...

tell me, how do you do it... have somebody carry the amp behind you or what. end snip::

Do you know what pit percussion is? We stand on the side of the field-no actual marching involved & with the way of our podium goes it has a power generator/battery on it so i plug into that & it works great. There's so many people that think that i must have people that carry the amp or something....if anything i'd expect people to think that i used a wireless or something. I know it was a delayed response and speaking of marching band season, i got marching band camp coming up in august-time for another years show. My show choir rig is just the Bass Man 200. thats all

Rapco powerstrip
Yamaha PB-1 preamp
Yamaha GC2020 Comp/Limiter
Yamaha p2201 Poweramp (200w/side at 8 ohms, transparent and silent but weighs about 600 lbs.)

yeah, I like the Yamaha. I play an RBX bass too, and I'd use their cabs if they had any that I'd even heard of.

I used to biamp this into an Eden D210XLT and an Aguilar GS112. Now I'm between rigs and have sold the Eden. Another day, another rig.

All I've got (aside from an old keyboard amp and a Microbass practice amp) is my Ampeg B2-48 combo.

Love it, but wish I'd had the patience to research and save for a more flexible, portable, modular setup -- preamp, power amp, plus cab(s).

Oh, well. Live and learn...

Greg,
We're Lutheran. We are all about hymns!:D I do wish that there was a call for electric bass in our service though. I bet fretless would sound fantastic with a pipe organ. How do you like your Acme? My brother and I bought a couple of the B-4s about six months ago and love 'em.
Here's my rig to keep with the thread:
Alembic F-1X
QSC USA 850
BBE sonic maximizer ( gonna get rid of the sterile thing)
Acme 410
Optional cabs are: Boogie Deisel 210
Boogie Road Ready 15
Beat to Snot and Still Sounds Good Hartke 410XL

Little clipping when I'm really loud, but other than that, I'm happy. The Redline has alost "too" much to it - but because of that, if you play with it, you can have it do just about whatever you want. Warm it up with the tube pre amp, great gate, moderate compression. Enough power.

The 4X10+15 cabinet is pretty awesome. Mesa Boogie quality. Although it's extremely heavy, it takes up less space than a standard full-stack and with it's casters, it moves pretty easily. It's got built in horns and because it's front ported, everything is projected well. But I'll still run two 15"'s off of it for live shows - one I use as a monitor and the other for my drummer.
