Main Rig (large rehearsal spaces and gigs):
G-K 400RB head
Avatar B210 (used all the time)
Avatar B115 (used most of the time)
dbx 266 Compressor (used about half the time, on high-volume gigs)
Small Rig (small rehearsal spaces, Church, or small, quiet gigs):
Hartke B60 combo
dbx 266 Compressor (used occasionally)
The G-K/Avatar rig is smooth, punchy, and it kicks. Very musical EQ; I can dial in my sound in a room very quickly.
The lil' Hartke has a really nice sound for a small 1x12 sealed-back setup. Good control structure, too. I like the shape control a lot. Not that powerful, but surprising. It'll give you a pretty good shot in the chest for 60 watts solid-state.
The compressor in both cases is set as a hard peak limiter for speaker protection and as a noise gate. I usually don't compress a whole lot to smooth the sound out; I like a fair amount of dynamic range. The G-K excels at that.
