It wasnt resolved and it never disappeared, increasing the treble on any bass amplifies the issue even more. Cutting off the treble makes it gone/inaudible.Right, right -- a lot of that was discussed in your other thread. But at the end of the thread you said the problem was resolved by a combination of shielding the bass and using a power conditioner. Evidently, though, the problem isn't resolved after all. Do you think you were mistaken that those two fixes had eliminated the buzz, or was the buzz actually gone for some period of time but then came back? That's what I'm getting at.
Which is exactly where the electrician should go.All I have is a breaker with switches, its all connected together since both properties are hers so it's one meter for both, the power just got extended over to this house.
Which one will you grab when the house catches fire?I have a spector, a Warwick, ebs reidmar 502 and a GK 2x12 cab.
I should have just looked at your signature, thanks for sharing the info, and very nice gear! I know nothing about Swedish electrical codes, but that sounds improper. Someone else who knows will probably chime in. Not that it's inherently unsafe, but it's not logical, and would not pass code here in the US. Every residence or building has to have it's own metered independent connection to the power grid. If your neighbor has a dispute with the power company for whatever reason, you'd get disconnected as well. And how do you calculate you part of the bill?Im not ignoring anyone here, you should read my reply above..

Not 'shady' . Illegal in my town, perhaps not in other places... At the very least, assuming the the old worn out maybe exposed wiring in the other house that should be replaced is Stable For Now, I would think of your house's power as Plugging Into The Antenna. Even if your part is new and sealed. The 2 houses are an antenna for all the static and noise energy that leaks through the old connections. No idea why everyone is jumping to something shady right away, especially with how things are done here in Sweden...
Okay so now its about my bills?I should have just looked at your signature, thanks for sharing the info, and very nice gear! I know nothing about Swedish electrical codes, but that sounds improper. What are you talking about? I mentioned a few things.Which is exactly where the electrician should go.

Hope so too. Hope she gets back to me and talks to an electrician at least, not much more I can do right now. What a weird electrical setup..hope that gets straightened out!.... Would a rechargeable amp work?...I owned one of these Liberty Amps that are very small, sound great...Now finding a house with some power
Liberty from Sweetwater <----
I've often wondered if something like a portable battery powered PA would work? I suppose you might not get the same frequency response or volume. But probably you wouldn't blow the speaker? It might be OK for busking or practice.

I tried exactly what you suggested. Turned on the amp, nothing plugged in and it has just the typical speaker noise and the fan noise. So it's the pickups acting as antennas i would assume. There was some comment about RFI posted. Could you record some of the audio from your amp when it is making the noise? Since you said turning the treble down helps quiet the noise, that suggests higher frequencies than typical power line noise. Hearing the noise could reveal more about where it is coming from. You need to know if the noise is entering you amp via the power line or is RF getting in the the amp.
Also, does the noise appear when the amp is on, volume up, but no instrument plugged in? (just to verify that the noise is entering via the power cord) Does the Volume control change the level of the noise?
The portable AM radio idea is a good one if you can do that.
I own and use the Phil Jones Briefcase amp. It words very well for its size, It is expensive and heavy with the battery installed. 100 watts into a pair of 5” bass speakers. I play upright through it mainly and it lasts about an hour per charge. The Phil Jones headphone amps work very well also and also are expensive.
I suggest you try the new Fender Mustang headphone amp. It cost $100 US and is battery powered, rechargeable via USB and works well for bass guitar. Cheap solution if you can get on in your country.

OMG. Seriously. And here I thought the USA had the lowest standards of acceptability for legal power. It's not uncommon here in the overpopulated UK with the constant subdivision of dwellings and building of annexes. You have to pay the power company to put in a separate supply.

This is my setup, at night I only use the Quilter BB800, with headphones. It has to be connected to a socket, but the cab is disconnected. Do you have an amp with headphone input?Hope so too. Hope she gets back to me and talks to an electrician at least, not much more I can do right now.
I'm leaning towards phil jones portable amp with a litium battery, I could play thru my headphones then and that sounds fine to me.
We will see what happens next, all depends on the house owner.
No noise (normal amp hiss) without the bass plugged in? Your bass is picking up RFI, you might even try something as simple as a different cable or wireless setup if you can borrow one.I tried exactly what you suggested. Turned on the amp, nothing plugged in and it has just the typical speaker noise and the fan noise. So it's the pickups acting as antennas i would assume.
I'll record the noise later on and post a reply aimed at you.
