Portaflex Question

Quick question. I have an Ampeg BA210 that used to be mine but isn't mine anymore but it lives in my bands practice space. Very complicated. I'm looking at getting an Ampeg RB 210. Would the Portaflex 210HE be a good extension cab for both of these amps?

Might be a better fit (tonally) for the RB210 than the BA210, but the extension cab will have plenty of headroom, which is the biggest concern with adding an extension cabinet. In that regard, you've got nothing to worry about.

Kudos on sticking with the same speaker config (2x10s for both) though, puts you in a much better spot than tossing on a rando 1x15 or 1x12 cabinet.

Yeah. That's what I need more than anything because I'm basically tapped at practice so I'm losing all of my bottom end.

Adding more speakers is definitely the way to fix that. You should notice an increase in low-end by simply adding it on, but don't be afraid to EQ your bass knob higher than usual, as the rig should be well up to the task now.

The PF-210he might be a bigger heft than the RB combo, as it uses ceramic speakers. but I'm assuming it was getting put on bottom anyhow. Hope the rig works out great! That PF cab will also be great to have if you pivot to a different head in the future

In the practice room I can orient them any way I want. The RB is gonna stay at my pad, and when we go live I'll be taking the RB and the PF cab.

It really all just depends on what I need in the future. If I like the RB and PF together and need more I'll just get a signal box and a second RB and PF. Worst case they stop making the RB line and I'll snag a head and run the two PFs. It gives me a ton of options though.

My RB210 sounds great sitting on a TL606 with an EVM 15L in it. Id go against the TB grain and add a 15 cab
I'm in a Goth-Rock band and the 10s give me better high end for my Chorus and Tube Screamer. Plus when I play clean I like the sound of 10s better than 15s. I think if I were in a heavier or bluesy or even a funkier band I'd slap a 15 on it.

My main focus is just getting more surface area and power so I'm not losing ALL of my lows trying to keep up with 8 12s.

The EVM 15L has a lot better highs than the 10s in the RB. Better lows too
