Well, I'd feel more confident if it was on his website, but I don't see it there. His site talks about how he's built around 10 instruments per year, and the 2007 list shows 12 builds, but does not include this one. The pics go back a long time. It certainly looks like one of Carl’s but I’d still defer to an expert.

If it's a fake, it was executed perfectly. Looks legit to me.

Without having it in my hands I can’t say with 100% certainty that it’s real, but based on the pics I’m 99.99% sure it is. All the details are accurate for that time period. Nothing at all jumps out at me indicating it’s not authentic.

It looks real to me. Carl's basses often have a rough hewn, highschool workshop look about them. If you were thinking it looked a little rough around the edges, I think that's just what they're like up close.

It is real - I only have around 75% of the instruments on the website by my estimate.

It sold before I was able to confirm it here. Hopefully someone from this group ended up with it. Heck of a storage unit find if that story was truthful.

It looks like the bass under 1-8-07 on the CT Bass photo gallery. According to the notes, it was stolen and then returned....then I guess ended up in a storage locker and forgotten about. Quite the adventurous life for the little guy.

Oh! I’m glad it was returned! At the time I was looking at it it wasn’t documented on CT website. Looks like the original owner was able to recover it from the storage unit person. Or at least that’s what I hope.
