Post-Rock and Metal Pedal Boards?

I tried using a Wah for awhile. It was really only good for intense noise moments when combined with fuzz. Even then it didn't seem to fit. Just MHO.
what, good/bad? Personally i love it, yeah its massive, but if it was MXR sized I dont know if i'd feel the same way, the colorsound Bass Fuzz is even WIDER!
The Hardwire Chorus is excellent on bass, its got so many models, as well as a blend control. Very useable in all settings IMO. I may be moving it along soon as im getting a phaser. I Just wish Digitech brought out a hardwire Phaser too. If i had to get a chorus again (if i sell this one) i'd probably buy another Hardwire
Double D,...your band kills,...it's a little thrashy/hardcore,...I detect a little older Dillinger Escape Plan in there too.
I suck at classificating [sic] music,...the band I'm in has a really long name,....which makes me think we are post rocky. If it helps our guitarist wears skinny jeans,...sadly we have no recordings yet as we are still in the rehearsal stage and with temps in the 100's it's way to hot to rehearse.
If I had to say we are synth/dance/art/indie/post-rock/improv with some punk and down tempo elements. Think Fugazi meets Team Sleep meets Lake Trout meets Don't Stop Til You Get Enough Micheal Jackson (but just that song).
We are only a trio so we are limited and effects really help to fill in the gaps. I'm trying to work in my microKORG for basslines in this project as well.

I mainly use the SD-2 for a clean boost, the fuzz goes on and stays on for about 90% of the time. OC-2 for glitchy wonderfulness but also for synthy type parts as well.
Note that an envelope filter will be added to this board as well as a BOSS LS-2 and some other flavors of (gated) Fuzz and distorotron (as well as a bigger board,...nah see).

Thank, man. You really do need to get some recordings together because I wanna hear warwicks->supercollider in the worst way. Funny thing about my setup is with all of the dirt on my board no one but me can tell the difference between them live, and only sometimes in the studio, which is where we've been spending most of our time, and we should have a full length out by the end of the Mayan calendar.

I recorded this when I first got the SC. It's a week sounding straight to soundcard ditty, that I don't think does the pedal very much justice. I've got another recording that's even weaker sounding. I won't make you suffer through that one.
I've found that it sounds a little fuller with a clean boost after it,...I need to try the boost before it however,...just haven't made the time to mess with my signal chain.

By that time we will have evolved in consciousness to the point where all you'll have to do is think about it and the rest of us will know what the finished product sounds like.

So it does work well on bass. I knew it has many different chorus models but I never knew it has a blend control. now I know what chorus pedal to get if I ever needed a new chorus pedal. thanks for letting me know, DosiYanarchy.
i play in a melodic thrash power trio. i use distortion and octave alot, but chorus during light parts. we also jam with alot of different feels, so i use everything else enough
im about to redo it completely though. the chorus sounds to digital and forced, and the phaser drains the balls out of my sound like theres no tomorrow
ill be replacing the chorus and phaser with an ebs unichorus. the muff will likely stay, and another fuzz (devi ever cherry pop or a supercollider, most likely) will be added in the chain. the pd7 will be replaced with a sansamp paradriver di. the synth wah will probably go completely, and ill have a digitech xp-100 whammy-wah, with a zoom b2.1u at the end of the chain. the weeping demon will stay unless i find a good fuzz-wah with a good enough sweep to replace it. otherwise ill just have the demon in addition to a fuzz wah

These days I just use a Line-6 M13...surprisingly great sounds in this box. I'd like to add a Pitchfactor and a Goatkeeper to the floor though. Line-6 takes care of all the standards, but those are some unique beasts.
I gotta ask you guys... if you're playing in post-rock/metal bands, what amps are you using? Even if you're going up against nothing but 100 watt tube half stacks with your guitar players, it's hard enough getting your clean signal through, let alone all these pedals. The only reason low end loss and pure mud isn't a problem for me is because I run a GBE1200 through an Ampeg 410HLF and 115E. I'm real interested to hear what you guys are working with.
Oh, and James, I was looking more for a Warwick->Supercollider in a live band mix. Everything I own sounds awesome when I'm alone. And, next week it will sound even better once my X-Blender gets here!

I use a GK 1001 RB with an Emperor 4x12 and an Emperor 2x15. The link in my sig is to my old band, so it's not representative of my current gear. We're doing a quick recording later this month, so I should have something better to offer then.
For me, the key to cutting though has more to do with the guitar sounds than anything I do with my gear. I've found that guitar players tend to add WAY more gain than necessary a monstrous percentage of the time, which in turn tends to turn everything into mud. Once we have had a band "tone" session and pulled back some of noise, everything really started to pop.
Beyond that, I've focused on technique, particularly in terms of playing with a pick. I have a bad tendency to come at the strings from an angle and steal some of my own thunder. I do the same when I play too "vertically" with my fingers.
Oh yeah, and I turn way the hell up.

just one of the reasons I am disliking the TZ-2 fuzz!
I am currently using a Crate B220 head into a ashdown 4X10,... more than holds its own at practice sessions (we play loud,... annoying but I cant get the drummer to turn down and in turn cant get the guitar to either!) and should cut okish live,...
every other dirt box, tremolo, wah and delay cuts through fine, that said in a live mix I have a feeling the wah use would tend to be backgroundy against the rest of the crud going on
I have an ashdown mag300 head but it recently developed problems after buying it so have just stuck with the crate for reliability (the mag whined like 2 weeks after buying,... got fixed under warranty but definitely dont want to abuse it now!)

I use a GK1001RB into an NV610. It's loud as all hell. I'm up against two half stacks with reasonable volume and a hard hitting drummer, plus a synth driving the heck out of an old Roland JC120.
I never have any problems being heard.
Well, posting a picture of your board does effectively answer the question stated by the OP.
I'm using a bassist's rig that practices at the same rehearsal space and he's got an SVT-4Pro through a 4x10 and a 1x18. Our drummer is dynamic and we cover every thing from pianissimo to fortissimo. It cuts through great (after I hooked it up right.) I literally use my Fuzz to take up the space that a second guitarist would. Our guitarist uses an AC30.
Personally I have an old Yamaha PB-1 preamp pushing an SVP-1500 poweramp, throwing around 500 watts to a 4ohm Avatar 410. I haven't had any issues being heard when I've used that in the past. I plan to add cabs to that rig though to at least get some speakers up to ear level.
A post-rock band that came through town called Link Removed play a tiny venue with three guitards,....the bassist used the good ole SVT-4pro with an 8x10. Guitarist were using,...(IIRC) 1 Bassman,....and either 1 Twin, and 1 reverb,...or some combination...

That's not what I was getting at... The OP is talking about post-rock and post-metal, but some people are just posting their rock/metal boards.

Ah, fair enough. I guess I kinda/sorta fall in the post-hardcore category, so I figured I wouldn't be too out of place.
Edit: The title is asking for metal boards, too, but I don't think my band fits there either. Maybe I am screwed.
