Used pretty much this setup for my old post/instrumental/proggy/ambient/noise/weird rock band. OD and Fuzz for normal OD and Fuzz use (heavy parts/intros/bass heavy interludes), had a chorus on there until recently which found some use for warbly shimmeriness.
The dd-20 is a post rock machine, I used it more for toneshaping and soundscapes than straight delay (turn feedback to max, start twiddling some knobs and suddenly you're being attacked by a giant laser space octopus). The feedback loop also found a lot of use for noise/dissonance, but I did manage to actually "play it" for one song as a kind of cheap mans theremin with the bad monkey in the loop and some delay. Also found use for the whammy and the wah, but I only have the wah because I got it ages ago when I wanted to be Tim commerford, and it's too battered to sell so it's on the board.
Effects in any genre is just a matter of the music, I don't think of effects as colouring or messing with my parts, I create parts using my effects (to quote the edge)
