I've noticed that expression every time and didn't realize that he'd made a mistake that prompted that face until you mentioned it. Ha....love Fuze's brainfreeze at around 2:05.
“Juicy Fruit” is a great example of how just one pop on the bass in the right place can make a big impact.
A young bassist friend and I were just talking recently about how funky well placed pops and thumps are.
I believe we were listening to this:
Man...that first note tells you there's some sultry, sleazy, slow-grindin' bass coming your way! I love the tone and the playing; it's the sexiest bass I've ever heard.
