My P is in semi-retirement, I will occasionally take it out to play it at church.

When I purchased this in 1967, it was Cherry Red. I played it for about 5 years and replaced it with a Rickenbacker 4002. I proceeded to strip it's cherry lacquer and refinished it with polyurethane in it's natural mahogany.

Ric HB1 pickup on a '73 4000 with a custom surround. I do not have the original pickup nor surround, tho I do have the guts from a 70s 4001 in a box somewhere. Scored the bass, the pickup and the 70s case its in from TB.

1976 Precision. Bought it in 1988 for $495 w/case. It has the "A" neck option (JBass width at the nut). Originally had a black guard with bad scratches. Replaced that with a Fender tortoise guard. Pics with some recent work.

Yes, Hayman 4040 fretless.

They seem to be quite rare. I think I've seen one other fretless before, not sure where.

Had the same color B-301 and let it go about 25 years ago. Man, I still miss that bass!
Got it around 1980 and it was beat big time. Busted heat stock as well. Looked to be on the road since it was new 3 years earlier. Got it for 100 bucks. Been thinking I may get another someday..... but not for 100.00.
